MCHS CIVIL WAR ROUNDTABLE

GENERAL ORDERS, NO. 100. HOW THE WAR IS TO BE FOUGHT.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, the Mercer County Historical Society presents a program on “General Orders, No. 100.” This program will focus on how the Civil War was to be fought and includes sections on Military Jurisdiction, Retaliation, Protection of Persons and Property, Punishment, Deserters, POW’s, Hostages, Booty, War-Rebels, Spies, Traitors, Exchanges, Parole, and much more. This program will be presented by John Hall. Come in, enjoy the program, ask questions, and give us your thoughts and opinions. The doors open at 6:30 PM; the program starts at 7:00, and should end around 9:00. Please join us.

The Civil War Discussion Group is part of the Historical Society’s ongoing efforts to provide programming related to local history. The roundtable meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May. Participation in the discussion group is open to the public and is free.
