Mercer County Historical Society’s History in the Making Roundtable will present a program the Presidents of the United States—Harry Truman to Gerald Ford: 1945-1977
On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the Mercer County Historical Society (119 South Pitt Street, Mercer, PA) will look the Presidents of the United States—Harry Truman to Gerald Ford—1945-1977. Truman leads the United States into the Atomic Age and the beginning of the Cold War. A WWII hero, Eisenhower is followed by the youthful charisma of John Kennedy until he is assassinated. LBJ struggles with Vietnam, while Nixon will be forced to resign and Ford provides calm and steady leadership. Please join us. This event is FREE and open to the public.
The Modern History/History in the Making Discussion Group is part of the Mercer County Historical Society’s ongoing efforts to provide programming related to local history. This roundtable meets on the third Tuesday of each month from September through May. Participation in the discussion group is open to the public and is FREE.
